East Kent Concertina Players

EKCP in session
A meeting in the Priory 2003

The group was founded by Michael Perry, an excellent player of the English Concertina. It is a small group of about twenty or so enthusiasts. The group originally met in the undercroft of the Benedictine Priory in Canterbury but currently meets on the second Sunday of each month at Blean Village Hall near Canterbury. Meetings take place between 1 pm and 5. pm

Although the accent is on the English Concertina, members of the group play a range of instruments. We have several Anglo Chromatic concertinas and two or more Duets. The meetings are informal and may involve playing, solo or in ensemble, and some instruction.
